"It's a privilege for me to walk beside a client as you rediscover wholeness and identity. I value every unique relationship, collaborating with you as I hear your concerns and aid you in achieving your goals. Providing a safe space to understand your true identity and thrive in your current situation is always my aim. A relationship that is rooted in trust between therapist and client lays the foundation for me to effectively counsel. Since entering the counseling profession in 2011, I have cultivated both a passion for and commitment to professional excellence in the therapy room."

Kim is an Athens, Ga., native. She received her Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Richmont Graduate University and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Georgia.

Kim has worked in a variety of settings including a college counseling center, from there she spent several years working in private practice and residential programs for traumatized and sexually abused women in Atlanta. In 2014, Kim assisted in opening the first Georgia satellite location of Formation Counseling Services. Prior to opening Steady Hope in 2021, Kim was on staff with GROW Counseling Services.

Kim works with clients from many different backgrounds and has specific training in integrating faith into her counseling process. Kim’s goal, through counseling, is to provide a safe environment for individuals to understand their true identities and thrive in their current life situations. She considers it a unique privilege to walk beside individuals through their process of finding wholeness and identity again.

Kim’s counseling style reflects the truth that effective counseling is rooted in the relationship and trust established between therapist and client. Valuing this unique and special relationship allows her to work collaboratively with each of her clients as she hears their concerns and aids them in reaching their goals. Kim works from an attachment-based, trauma-informed perspective and believes that all parts of a person contribute to overall wellness.

Outside of the counseling room, Kim loves spending time with her husband, her son and daughter, and friends.  She’s a lover of health and fitness, reading, GA Football, and meeting new people.

“Providing a safe space to understand your true identity and thrive in your current situation is always my aim.”
