CONTACT

“Experiences such as grief and loss, anxiety, and major life change can feel so tiring. I believe that counseling can be that one place where you come as you are, take a deep breath, and heal with no outside expectations."

Fern is passionate about walking alongside her clients towards healing. She believes in the power of the therapeutic relationship and unconditional positive regard. She classifies herself as a laid back and approachable counselor. You might find her sitting crisscross in her chair while you share your story, and she will be so honored to share that space with you.

Fern works from a person-centered framework which emphasizes clients being the expert of their own experience. She also loves to pull from therapeutic modalities such as internal family systems, solution focused, attachment theory, and cognitive behavioral therapy. She feels so blessed to learn from her clients’ bravery in the counseling space. It can be so difficult to make a step towards counseling; this is a soft place to land.

She enjoys working with clients of all ages. She has the most experience working with ages 8-30 years old who are experiencing things such as grief and loss, anxiety, and stage of life changes. Her education includes a Bachelors of Social Work and a Masters of Social Work from the University of Georgia. She has been practicing individual and family counseling since 2023.

"You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view…until you climb into his skin and walk around in it." - Harper Lee
